GO AQS Launches “GO IAQS for Schools”: A Global Initiative to Thriving Classrooms

GO AQS (Global Open Air Quality Standards) is proud to announce the introduction of GO IAQS for Schools, a strategic plan designed to transform educational environments from passive shelters into active, health-protective zones. This global intervention establishes a new standard for student wellness by moving away from generic ventilation advice toward enforceable, health-based performance metrics.

A New Paradigm for School Health

The GO IAQS for Schools plan is built on a “Same Air, Same Standards” philosophy. It aims for global adoption to ensure that all children, including those in resource-limited settings, are protected by the same high-performance metrics as those in the most developed economies. By transitioning from vague guidance to science-based performance standards, the initiative ensures that air quality is maintained at levels that protect even the most clinically vulnerable students and staff.

A Strategic Roadmap for Better Schools

The core of this strategy is an implementation roadmap that transforms technical guidelines into actionable knowledge for school staff and administrators. The fundamental steps include:

  • Establishing a Baseline IAQ Audit: Conducting comprehensive audits using instruments and tools to document current air performance and identify unique pollutant profiles.
  • Developing Targeted IAQ Plans: Creating localized, living roadmaps that prioritize the most urgent environmental deficiencies.
  • Strategic Prevention and Maintenance: Implementing daily operational shifts, such as transitioning to fragrance-free cleaning products and programming HVAC “flush out” cycles to purge accumulated pollutants.
  • Continuous Monitoring: Deploying real-time monitors to unmask hidden daily pollutant cycles and providing digital dashboards for transparency to parents and staff.
  • Educational Integration: Turning environmental health into a learning opportunity by allowing students to engage with real-time air quality data as part of their science curriculum.

A Global Coalition for Clean Air

This initiative is a collaborative effort supported by a growing list of global organizations dedicated to protecting the health and cognitive performance of students. These supporting organizations include:

  • Mums for Lungs
  • Safer Air Safer Schools
  • The Safer Air Project
  • Clean Air for Kids
  • Safe Air Schools UK
  • Clinical Vulnerable Families
  • Clean Air Where
  • Goumbook
  • Take a Breath
  • Clean Indoor Air Toronto
  • Clean Air Advocacy Ireland
  • EDIAQI
  • Fundación Visible
  • Clean Air Allies
  • …with more organizations joining the mission.

The same air that keeps a clinically vulnerable pupil in school also raises cognitive performance, lowers absences, and improves health outcomes for every child and staff member in the building.
